1. Plain-language summary
We collect the minimum information required to run the site, manage email signups, fulfill pre-orders, and send shipping updates. We do not sell your data. We do not use third-party advertising trackers. Payment information goes directly to Stripe and never touches our servers. Linden the product itself is a local-first device — it does not send your air-quality readings to us or to any cloud service.
2. Information we collect
Email signups. When you sign up via the form on lindenair.com, we collect your email address and the source (which page you signed up from). We use this to send progress updates and to know roughly which content drives interest. Stored in our own database (Neon Postgres on Vercel).
Pre-orders. When you reserve a Linden, payment is processed by Stripe. We never see or store your full credit card number. Stripe sends us your name, email, billing address, shipping address, and the last four digits of your card to fulfill the order.
Site usage. Our hosting provider (Vercel) automatically receives basic request information — IP address, browser user-agent, referrer, and timestamp — for serving the site and detecting abuse. We use Vercel's privacy-respecting Web Analytics for page-view counts; no cookies, no cross-site tracking. We do not run additional analytics, ad pixels, or marketing trackers.
Linden the product. Linden devices process air-quality data locally on the device. Sensor data is stored on the unit itself. The device does not transmit air-quality readings, location, network details, or usage patterns to Threadcraft Labs. Optional integrations you opt into (Home Assistant via MQTT) communicate only with the endpoints you configure. There is no cloud account associated with the device.
3. How we use your information
We use email addresses for: order confirmations, shipping notifications, balance-charge confirmations, build progress updates, certification milestone announcements, and occasional product news. Pre-order communications are transactional and required to fulfill your reservation; non-essential updates can be unsubscribed at any time using the link in any email.
We use shipping and billing addresses only to ship your unit and to comply with sales-tax obligations.
We use site request information for security, abuse prevention, and operational debugging.
4. Who we share information with
We share information only with vendors strictly necessary to operate the business:
- Stripe — payment processing for deposits and balance charges
- Vercel — site hosting and privacy-respecting analytics
- Resend — email delivery for pre-order updates and shipping notifications
- Neon — database for the email signup list and pre-order records
- Shipping carriers — to deliver your unit (USPS, UPS, or FedEx)
- Tax and accounting providers — as required by law
We do not sell your data, share it with advertisers, or use it for cross-site tracking. We do not transfer your data outside the United States except as required to use the vendors above (some of whom operate globally).
5. Cookies and tracking
lindenair.com does not use marketing cookies, analytics cookies, or third-party advertising trackers. The site uses minimal cookies — only what's needed to operate features you explicitly use (e.g., the pre-order checkout). You can disable cookies in your browser; the site will continue to work, though some features may not.
6. Your rights
You can request a copy of any information we hold about you, ask us to correct inaccurate information, or ask us to delete your information entirely. Email joey@threadcraftlabs.com with the request. We will respond within 30 days. Note that we may need to retain certain records (purchase history, tax records) for the period required by law (typically 7 years).
If you have an active pre-order, deletion will require canceling the reservation first; we cannot fulfill an order without your contact and shipping information.
If you are a resident of California, the EU, the UK, or another jurisdiction with specific privacy rights (CCPA, GDPR, UK GDPR, etc.), those rights apply. Exercise them through the same email address.
7. Children's privacy
Lindenair.com and Linden products are not directed at children under 13. We do not knowingly collect personal information from children under 13. If you believe we have, please contact us and we will delete it promptly.
8. Security
We protect your information using standard security practices: HTTPS for all site traffic, payment data handled exclusively by Stripe (PCI-compliant), database access restricted to Threadcraft Labs personnel, and encrypted backups. No system is perfectly secure; we cannot guarantee absolute security but we work to minimize risk.
9. Data retention
We retain pre-order and shipping records for the period required by tax and warranty law (typically 7 years). Email signup records are retained until you unsubscribe or request deletion. Site request logs are retained by Vercel per their stated retention policies.
10. Changes to this policy
We may update this policy as our business evolves or as required by law. Material changes will be posted on this page with an updated date. If you have an active pre-order, we will email you about any material change that affects how your information is handled.
